The older of the Kazionov brothers has really got it cooking. Dmitry had a multi-point effort today to help propel Kazan to a 4-1 victory over Dynamo Minsk. The forward played 12:11 in the match. Kazionov has already eclipsed his goal total from a season ago (9) set in 55 games. Kazionov is also on a pace to post a modest improvement in points over his total from a year ago (20). Kazan sits in sixth in the standings in the KHL's Eastern Conference.

Remember what we said about Koshechkin having a history of getting shutouts in bunches? After a small blip against Karri Ramo's Omsk in which he allowed 3 goals, Koshechkin threw his third shutout in his last four starts today by blanking Astana 4-0. Koshechkin now is along in first in the KHL in shutouts and sits tied for third with former NHLer Robert Esche in wins.

His .922 sv% is also tied for fourth in the league among netminders with 20 or more appearances.
