Ex-Lightning defenseman Janne Niskala had a helper in defeat for the Finns. Ex-Lightning draft pick Dmitri Kazionov, the elder brother, had 1 shot on goal and was over 60% on draws in a 4th line role for the Russians. They play Sweden next on Saturday.

One wonders at what point the 25 year old power forward might get back on the Lightning's radar. Cherepovets plays Kazan on Wednesday the 13th.
