Florida dropped their sixth in a row, falling to the Road Warriors 4-1 Thursday. The Blades continue to struggle without ECHL leading scorer and Lightning prospect Mitch Fadden in the lineup. Florida, who is now six points behind Greenville in the South Division, has scored one goal in four of their last five games. Janus’ stat line continues to be respectable, but his L-column keeps growing because of the lack of goal support.

Florida Everblades 1 @ Gwinnett Gladiators 2
C Mitch Fadden: Did not play (injured - blood clot).
Season totals: 37 GP, 15-36-51, -2, 34 PIM
LW Alex Hutchings: Did not play (injured - lower body).

Janus put forth another strong effort, but without ECHL leading scorer Mitch Fadden the Everblades could only muster one goal in support of the Slovakian goaltender. For the Everblades to win consistently with Fadden out indefinitely, they’ll have to continue to get stellar efforts from Janus and Bobby Goepfert in net.

Fadden Out Indefinitely

Lightning prospect Mitch Fadden, who is currently leading the ECHL in scoring for the Florida Everblades, will be out indefinitely with a blood clot. The Everblades announcers said during last night's game that Fadden had a clot in his leg and could miss the season. The Lightning confirmed to Bolt Prospects that Fadden does indeed have a clot, and "will be out indefinitely while he is on blood thinner medication."

Fadden, a 2007 fourth round pick of the Lightning, has 15 goals and 36 assists for 51 points in just 37 games this season for Florida.

Cincy went into Southwest Florida and took six points from the Everblades. At least Florida got a point for the shootout loss in game three of the Cyclone homestand. There was no mention of an injury to Fadden in the Blades’ post-game reports from Friday or Saturday.

Edit: Word is Fadden may have a blood clot in his leg and could be lost for the season.
