Florida lost their fifth game in a row, this time at home to Greenville after they had a 3-0 lead to start the third period. Greenville peppered Lightning prospect goalie Pat Nagle with 16 shots in the final period. Nagle stopped a total of 38 shots in regulation and overtime, but gave up two goals on four attempts in the skills competition. Recently re-assigned Norfolk defensemen Charles Landry and Kevin Quick – both of whom saw time at forward for a depleted Admirals squad – played for the Everblades on Thursday. Quick (pictured) had an assist on the game’s opening goal. Of note: Lightning prospect forward Alex Hutchings, out since mid-November with an upper-body injury, has resumed skating with the team.

Florida missed a big chance to move up in the standings this weekend when they dropped all three games on the road. Nagle played well Sunday but didn’t get the goal support he needed. Norfolk defenseman Kevin Quick was assigned to the Everblades over the weekend. He was minus-2 with two shots on goal on Sunday. (swamphockey.com photo)

Florida was outshot 44-30 yet the game was tied at one entering the third period. Nagle got the night off after suffering a loss Friday night. Hutchings has been out since November 12 with an undisclosed injury.

Nagle started his first game in nine days with a chance to propel the Everblades into a tie for first place in the South Division, but Gwinnett outshot Florida 30-20 on their way to a 4-3 win. The Glads held onto first place and moved four points ahead of Florida with the win. Defensemen Kevin Quick and Charles Landry, recently assigned to Florida from Norfolk, were recalled to the Admirals earlier this week.

After starting 10 straight games for Florida Nagle got his second night off in as many days. Carolina prospect John Muse got the win in net for the Everblades, who won a 15-round shootout for the victory. Charles Landry (pictured with the now defunct Montreal Juniors) played his sixth game for the ‘Blades; he was reassigned by the Norfolk Admirals earlier in the day. Kevin Quick went scoreless in his second ECHL game since the 2009 playoffs. He failed to convert his shootout attempt. Landry did not get into the shootout. Florida is ties for first in the South Division with Gwinnett.
