In the “bad news” department: Zador appears to have definitely lost his starter’s job and Panik hasn’t scored in 8 games (and 1 in his last 10). Kevin Bailie, who started the year as Zador’s backup, earned Second Star in the loss for the Gens.

WHL

Seattle Thunderbirds 5 @ Saskatoon Blades 4 (SO)
D Teigan Zahn, SAS: 0-1-1, E, 0 PIM
Season totals: 19 GP, 1-5-6, +7, 32 PIM

Saskatoon allowed 2 third period goals, enabling Seattle to tie the game. The Thunderbirds then scored once in the shootout for the win. With his assist Tuesday, Zahn extended his point streak to a career-long 4 games. While that may be ho-hum for some, considering Zahn only had 3 points (all assists) all of last season, it’s a major achievement. His career high for points is 19, set in 2007-2008 with the Blades in 69 games. He was drafted by the Blackhawks in the fifth round after that season.
