D Adam Janosik, GAT: 0-1-1, -1, 2 PIM (unsportsmanlike conduct), 1 SOG, 0 Hits
Season Totals: 32 GP, 3-17-20, -3, 29 PIM

New Olympiques' captain Adam Janosik (pictured earned an assist in a 6-5 overtime loss Sunday. Gatineau underwent somewhat of a sell-off as they traded away both their captain and leading scorer. Janosik remains, which is somewhat confusing as this is likely his last year in major junior. Matthew Bissonette, a 6-4 undrafted center, had two goals and two assists for the Titan on Sunday, including the overtime winner. He has exploded this year for 33 goals and 68 points in 45 games. He is not related to the Coyotes’ Paul “BizNasty” Bissonette.

Canada WJC players Tanner Pearson (twice undrafted) and Mark Scheifele (Jets) combined for one point against London. Pearson leads the OHL in scoring despite missing a few weeks while with Team Canada. Griffith sits in fourth, 10 points behind Pearson.

Lightning prospect defenseman Geoffrey Schemitsch was traded by defending OHL champion Owen Sound to Oshawa today for two players. Schemitsch has 11 assists in 27 games this season with the Attack. Oshawa (40 points) sits in fourth in the East Division, just four points out of second. Ottawa leads the East with 53 points.

Season Totals (with Green Bay): 9 GP, 7-2-0, 2.27 GAA, .918 sv%, 2 SO

Ouch. This was a big game for Wilcox, who was coming off a 34-save shutout and facing the team that traded him just a few weeks ago. Wilcox gave up two in the first period, then two quick ones early in the third to take the loss. He was pulled in favor of backup Phoenix Copley.

QMJHL

Milan (pictured) played his second game in a Tigres uniform and earned his first point for Victoriaville in a 3-2 shootout win. Hopefully Milan, who has struggled this year offensively, uses this fresh start to get untracked.

London Knights 4 @ Sudbury Wolves 1

C Vladislav Namestnikov, LDN: 0-0-0, +1, 4 PIM (roughing, tripping)
Season Totals: 35 GP, 17-27-44, +13, 32 PIM

C Vladislav Namestnikov, LDN: Did not play (injured)
Season Totals: 33 GP, 17-23-40, +10, 28 PIM

Namestnikov missed his third straight game due to a lower body injury. 2012 draft eligible goalie Michael Houser was First Star for the Knights, stopping all 36 shots he faced. London was outshot 36-19 in the game.

Owen Sound Attack 3 @ Oshawa Generals 4

D Geoffrey Schemitsch, OS: 0-2-2, +1, 2 PIM (interference)
Season Totals: 26 GP, 0-10-10, +2, 18 PIM

QMJHL Note: Lightning prospect Adam Janosik of Gatineau is with Team Slovakia at the U20 World Junior Championships in Alberta.

OHL

Sarnia Sting 3 @ London Knights 7

C Vladislav Namestnikov, LDN: Did not play (injured)
Season Totals: 33 GP, 17-23-40, +10, 28 PIM

After Namestnikov was a surprise cut by Team Russia at the World Junior tournament, rumors started swirling he was injured when trying to make the team though nothing had been announced. Friday was the second straight game for London that Namestnikov has missed due to a “lower body injury,” giving those rumors some credibility. Speaking of credibility, it’s a lot easier to handle Namestnikov – a first round pick of the Lightning in 2011 – not making the team due to an injury than not being good enough. On Friday, Lightning camper Seth Griffith had a hat trick for the Knights. He also added an assist. Griffith (pictured) now has 29 goals and 50 points in 35 games.

Owen Sound Attack 1 @ Kitchener Rangers 4

D Geoffrey Schemitsch, OS: 0-0-0, +1, 0 PIM

Season Totals: 33 GP, 17-23-40, +10, 28 PIM

Former Lightning camper Seth Griffith scored an empty net goal for his 26th goal of the season as London topped division rival Guelph, 3-1. The undrafted Griffith has 46 points in 33 games to go with a plus-17 rating. He has a 12 game point streak going and has had at least a point in 24 of his last 26 games. He was passed over in last year’s draft and camped with the Lightning before being sent back to the OHL without a contract. He sits in sixth in the OHL in points and is second in goals.

Owen Sound Attack 3 @ Sarnia Sting 5

D Geoffrey Schemitsch, OS: 0-0-0, E, 0 PIM

C Vladislav Namestnikov, LDN: 1-1-2, +1, 0 PIM
Season Totals: 31 GP, 17-23-40, +10, 28 PIM

Namestnikov scored at about the 1:00 mark of the first period – his 17th of the season – then assisted on Seth Griffith’s 25th of the year later in the game but it wasn’t enough for the CHL’s top ranked team to beat the Petes. Namestnikov failed to convert a penalty shot attempt in the game.

Owen Sound Attack 6 @ Windsor Spitfires 4

D Geoffrey Schemitsch, OS: 0-0-0, E, 0 PIM
Season Totals: 21 GP, 0-7-7, -1, 16 PIM

He’s back! Though he was scoreless in the game, Schemitsch (pictured) played his first game since being injured November 12. His name has been mentioned in the local press for being possible trade bait as Owen Sound looks toward the future.

D Daniel Milan, MON: 0-0-0, -1, 0 PIM, 0 SOG, 1 Hit
Season Totals: 26 GP, 0-4-4, -7, 25 PIM

Milan has not registered a point in eight games. He is minus-5 during that time. Milan is fourth in points for the year among Wildcat defensemen. While Lightning management said they signed Milan for his defensive abilities and offense is a bonus, one suspects they weren't expecting him to slump this bad after a 38-point rookie season.

OHL

Owen Sound Attack 3 @ Barrie Colts 5

D Geoffrey Schemitsch, OS: Did not play (injured)
Season Totals: 20 GP, 0-7-7, -1, 16 PIM

Not a good start to a lengthy road trip for Moncton.

QMJHL Note: Teenage phenom Nathan MacKinnon (pictured), 16, had five goals for Halifax in a win over Quebec Saturday night. The Halifax native has 19 goals and 49 points in 29 games so far this season. Expect him to go first overall in the 2013 NHL draft.

London Knights 5 @ Owen Sound Attack 3
C Vladislav Namestnikov, LDN: 0-0-0, E, 0 PIM

Namestnikov’s four game point streak was snapped in a road win over Geoffrey Schemitsch-less Owen Sound. Namestnikov’s teammate, Andreas Athanasiou (2012 draft eligible), had four goals in the game. Schemitsch hasn’t played since November 12 because of an upper body injury.
