Tommy Tremblay (undrafted) and Hubert Labrie (undrafted) both had a pair of goals for the Olympiques. Labrie only had one goal for the season coming into the game.

Montreal won the shootout 2-1. Landry did not participate in the skills competition.

Connolly scored twice in the first period to give him 39 for the year and set a new career best for points in a season. Unfortunately for the Cougars, they let that 2-0 lead falter and the Bruins ended up with a shootout win. Connolly failed to convert his shootout attempt.

Lincoln Stars 3 @ Fargo Force 6
C Jimmy Mullin, FGO: 2-1-3, +2, 0 PIM, 5 SOG
Season totals: 39 GP, 18-29-47, +25, 22 PIM
Mullin (pictured) now has five points in his last two games. His unassisted, shorthanded goal early in the third period was the first of four straight goals for the Force in the period. They’d add another after Lincoln scored to make it 5-3. Mullin is ninth in the league in scoring and third in plus/minus.

Gatineau was outshot by a 2:1 margin (34-17), yet squeezed out a victory in Shawinigan when Philip-Michael Devos (undrafted) scored his 41st goal of the season late. Devos (5-11, 184) leads the Q scoring race with 98 points in 60 games.

The Chiefs have TC’s number. Saturday night Spokane beat their division rivals for the fourth time in the last two weeks. As a result, the Ams have now fallen six points behind Spokane. For the season, Spokane has won six of the 10 games played between the two teams. They’ll meet two more times before the season ends.

Connolly broke a season-long four game scoreless streak with a goal and an assist Saturday, and tied his career high for points in a season in the process. The Prince George captain had 60 points as a rookie two seasons ago in 65 games. This was a strong bounce-back game for the Cougars after losing 8-0 Friday to Spokane and twice to the Tips last weekend at home. Prince George had been on a five game losing streak.

O’Donnell was First Star in Game 1 but didn’t dress for Game 2. He reportedly sustained an injury when he fell awkwardly during his fight in the first game of the series. No specifics were given about the injury, which is not a shock to anyone at this time of year.

Mullin scored into an empty net and added an assist Friday. His nine shots on goal led the team. Fargo outshot Sioux City 43-16, including 24-4 in the second period. Despite the disparity, Fargo only led 2-1 after two periods and scored twice in the game’s final minute.

Ouch. Prince George went on the road to meet a streaking Spokane team and watched as the Chiefs built a snowman on the scoreboard. Anthony Bardaro (undrafted) had a hatter for Spokane. Connolly hasn’t registered a point in four games, his longest scoreless streak of the season.
Brandon Wheat Kings 7 @ Saskatoon Blades 6

Brandon got some revenge on the WHL’s top team and the CHL’s No.2 team by coming back from a 4-2 deficit after one period and beating the Blades 7-6 in Saskatoon. The Blades had beaten the Wheaties 7-4 earlier this week. David Toews, Jonathan’s brother, scored the game winner with under four minutes to go. Toews left the University of North Dakota after his sophomore season to play Canadian Juniors this year. The Islanders pick has 15 goals and 36 points in 50 games.

O’Donnell finished the season second on the Vees in points, goals, and assists, and led in power play points with 18. The Vees (38-17-3-2) will play Quesnel (13-38-3-6) in the first round of the BCHL Interior Conference playoffs.
