Panik is also tied for fourth in goals, one behind leaders Christian Thomas (Oshawa, Rangers), Alex Aleardi (Plymouth, undrafted), and McKegg.

Regina is a league-worst 1-6-1-0 so far this year, and for a team with Jordan Weal and Ashton, that shouldn’t be happening. They managed only 14 shots on goal – at home – on Tuesday. Then again, this was a team that had Jordan Eberle last year and greatly faltered. After scoring 30 two years ago, Ashton fell to 24 goals last year, and with only 2 after 7 games, he can’t be happy with his (or the team’s) production so far, especially considering he had such a good Lightning camp and exhibition season.
