RW Carter Ashton, TC: 0-1-1, E, 5 PIM (fighting vs. Darren Kramer)

TC came into the game two points behind Spokane for third in the Western Conference and three points behind Portland for first (B.C. Division leader Kelowna is seeded second). With their less-than-stellar home ice showing Saturday and Portland’s win, that hole got a little deeper for TC. The Ams do have two games in hand on Portland and three on Spokane, however.

O’Donnell (pictured) scored both his team's goals and hit 70 points for the season after accumulating 61 in 53 games last year with the Winnipeg South Blues of the MJHL. The game ended in a tie Friday. In the BCHL, they play five minutes of 4-on-4 hockey, then another five of 3-on-3 play if no one has scored. If the game is still tied after 10 extra minutes, the contest is finished; there is no shootout. Last season there were only seven ties in 510 BCHL games.

Season Totals: 45 GP, 24-26-50, -11, 70 PIM

The Force scored the game’s final five goals to earn a road win.

OHL

Guelph Storm 3 @ London Knights 2

With Belleville: 27 GP, 14-17-31, E, 33 PIM
Season totals: 49 GP, 26-29-55, -6, 67 PIM

Panik missed the game with a knee injury. No details have been released on the severity of the injury. He scored a goal in the third period of Saturday night’s game, so if he was hurt, it happened late – or they kept him out as a precaution. It’s all speculation at this point. Guelph put up 50 shots on London Sunday, scoring three times in the third period to erase a 2-0 deficit and steal a win.

WHL

Tri-City Americans 6 @ Chilliwack Bruins 1

Season totals: 44 GP, 35-21-56, -6, 22 PIM

Possible first overall pick in 2011, Ryan Nugent-Hopkins, was scoreless Sunday against the Cougars for the Rebels.

C Jimmy Mullin, FGO: 0-0-0, -1, 2 PIM (interference), 2 SOG

TC came into the game four points behind Portland for first in the U.S. Division and ended the game in third, one point behind Spokane. Ten minutes into the first period the Winterhawks were up 3-0 and they went on to put up 54 shots and post a snowman against the Americans. This game turned ugly as there were four fights in the last minute of the game, including one after the final horn. Ashton is minus-6 in his last three games.

Beukeboom left the game early with a possible concussion after taking an elbow to the head. The Soo captain missed several games earlier this season with a concussion. A St. Pete Times report states Brock had one before being drafted, too. Brock’s father, former NHLer Jeff Beukeboom, had his career cut short by post concussion syndrome caused by multiple head injuries throughout his NHL career – the worst of which was a sucker punch from the Kings Matt Johnson.
