Canada East 4 vs. USA 6 (Gold Medal Game)
C Jimmy Mullin, USA: 1-0-1, 2 PIM (unsportsmanlike conduct)
Tournament totals: 4 GP, 6-0-6, 2 PIM

Jimmy Mullin’s sixth goal of the tournament – scored unassisted – was the game-winner as the USA won gold at the World Junior A Challenge for the third consecutive year. Mullin scored the tie-breaking goal with just over 4 minutes left in the game. The U.S. would add an empty netter late. Mullin, who led all players in goals for the tournament, was named to the WJAC’s all-star team. USA defenceman Scott Mayfield was named MVP. Mullin will now return to Fargo of the USHL. A snowman in Kitchener. Panik was a team-worst minus-5. The next worst was minus-3. Possible 2011 Lightning draft target right-handed defenseman Ryan Murphy just had an assist in the game. He has 10 goals and 28 points in 16 games so far this year for the Rangers and is now playing himself into the top of the first round it seems (and too high for the Lightning?).
