Fargo exacted some revenge on Omaha for the Lancers beating the Force 2-1 Friday night. Mullin had an assist in that game – his first game back from injury – but did not find the scoresheet Saturday. Mullin did not convert his shootout attempt. Fargo won the shootout 1-0 in seven rounds.

Ten minutes into the first period the Winterhawks were up 3-0 and they went on to put up 54 shots and post a snowman against the Americans. This game turned ugly as there were four fights in the last minute of the game, including one after the final horn. Ashton is minus-6 in his last three games.

After spotting the Otters a 4-0 lead, the Greyhounds mounted a furious comeback to make it 4-3, then gave up an empty netter. Beukeboom left the game early with a possible concussion after taking an elbow to the head. The Soo captain missed several games earlier this season with a concussion. A St. Pete Times report states Brock had one before being drafted, too. Brock’s father, former NHLer Jeff Beukeboom, had his career cut short by post concussion syndrome caused by multiple head injuries throughout his NHL career – the worst of which was a sucker punch from the Kings Matt Johnson.
