O’Donnell was First Star in Game 1 but didn’t dress for Game 2. He reportedly sustained an injury when he fell awkwardly during his fight in the first game of the series. No specifics were given about the injury, which is not a shock to anyone at this time of year.

Brandon got some revenge on the WHL’s top team and the CHL’s No.2 team by coming back from a 4-2 deficit after one period and beating the Blades 7-6 in Saskatoon. The Blades had beaten the Wheaties 7-4 earlier this week. David Toews, Jonathan’s brother, scored the game winner with under four minutes to go. Toews left the University of North Dakota after his sophomore season to play Canadian Juniors this year. The Islanders pick has 15 goals and 36 points in 50 games.

O’Donnell finished the season second on the Vees in points, goals, and assists, and led in power play points with 18. The Vees (38-17-3-2) will play Quesnel (13-38-3-6) in the first round of the BCHL Interior Conference playoffs.

A big win for Gatineau over the TELUS East Division-leading Remparts. The Olympiques have clinched a playoff spot and sit in fourth in the TELUS West Division, one point behind Shawinigan.

The game winning goal was scored by Jeremy Gouchie (undrafted) with 35 seconds left in the game. Montreal leads the TELUS West Division with 86 points, five more than Drummondville. They have clinched a playoff spot. Only St. John (95) has more points in the Q.
