Mullin was scoreless for the second straight game, but the Force got the win against the USA development team. At 60 points, Fargo is tied for third in the Western Conference with Sioux Falls, who has a game in hand on Fargo. The Force is one point out of second and five points out of first, but the teams in front of them, Omaha and Dubuque, have games in hand on Fargo. The Force have 11 games left in the season.

Spokane’s Tyler Johnson (undrafted) leads with 47. Johnson had a goal Friday against the Cougars.

Connolly broke a season-long four game scoreless streak with a goal and an assist Saturday, and tied his career high for points in a season in the process. This was a strong bounce-back game for the Cougars after losing 8-0 Friday to Spokane and twice to the Tips last weekend at home. Prince George had been on a five game losing streak.

The Blades had beaten the Wheaties 7-4 earlier this week. David Toews, Jonathan’s brother, scored the game winner with under four minutes to go. Toews left the University of North Dakota after his sophomore season to play Canadian Juniors this year. The Islanders pick has 15 goals and 36 points in 50 games.

The game ended in a tie Friday. In the BCHL, they play five minutes of 4-on-4 hockey, then another five of 3-on-3 play if no one has scored. If the game is still tied after 10 extra minutes, the contest is finished; there is no shootout. Last season there were only seven ties in 510 BCHL games.

Panik missed the game with a knee injury. No details have been released on the severity of the injury. He scored a goal in the third period of Saturday night’s game, so if he was hurt, it happened late – or they kept him out as a precaution. It’s all speculation at this point. Guelph put up 50 shots on London Sunday, scoring three times in the third period to erase a 2-0 deficit and steal a win.

Prince George saw their 2-1 third period lead turn into a 3-2 deficit before Connolly scored with just under two minutes left in the game to tie game, and again in overtime to win it for the Cougars. Connolly is up to eighth in the league in goals scored. Undersized center Tyler Johnson of Spokane (undrafted overager) leads with 43. Possible first overall pick in 2011, Ryan Nugent-Hopkins, was scoreless Sunday against the Cougars for the Rebels.
