With Binghamton making up some games in hand, the Crunch have slid to 5th in the North Division. But, they're just 1 point back of the Devils with Bingo still holding a game in hand.

Third Period
10:33 SYR Masin (2), (Colton, Witkowski)

Alex Barre-Boulet, Martin, and Dominik Masin were the game's three stars.

Don't look now, but Ross Colton has 1-8-9 in his last eight games.

Syracuse has opened up a two point lead on Bingo for fourth in the North Division and they are just three points back of Utica for third, although the Comets hold two games in hand. Most teams in the division hold games in hand on Syracuse in this tight race, so it's incumbent on them to continue streaking if they want to stay in playoff shape.

Crunch comeback falls short in shootout.

RCH-4
SYR-3 (SO)

Spencer Martin allowed 3 goals on 38 shots before allowing 2 of 3 shooters to convert in the PS session for the SO loss. Syracuse was outshot 38-18 in this contest, so it's clear that Martin's performance held his team in the game, which may be a sign this diminished workload is more in line with what he can handle at this point in his development.

SYR- NONE

Martin and Alexander Volkov were the game's first and second stars.

I'd love to see a stat of how many points the Crunch have lost from a leading position in the Third Period this season. It's got to be an astronomically large number, at this point, although in this case you can't gripe too much when they came into the final regulation fram trailing.

With a six game streak (4-0-0-2) Syracuse has moved into fifth position in the North Division 3 points clear of Laval and 1 point back of Toronto. However, the Marlies still hold three games in hand, so Syracuse HAS to keep streaking to give themselves a chance.
