Florida posted a snowman on the scoreboard for the second straight game, this time defeating Reading in Pennsylvania, 8-3. Reading had a 2-0 lead halfway through the first period on ‘Blades goaltender John Muse. Florida reeled off four straight goals, then added four more in a 10-minute span between the end of the second period and the midway point of the third. New Lightning prospect Sebastien Piche was suspended for a boarding major in his last game. With the win, Florida is now three points behind South Carolina for sixth in the East, and four points up on Cincinnati for seventh. Florida scored the game’s first five goals en route to a big road win in New Jersey. The only hiccup the ‘Blades had was when new Lightning prospect Sebastien Piche (pictured), obtained from the Red Wings in the Kyle Quincey/Steve Downie trade, received a major penalty for boarding and the Titans scored twice on that power play. Joe Palmer, recently acquired by Florida for goaltending help after Bolt prospect Pat Nagle was recalled to Norfolk, got his first win for Florida by stopping 24 of 26 shots. Palmer is a former Blackhawks fourth rounder and Ohio State Buckeye. Florida is in sole possession of seventh place in the East now, two points up on Cincinnati.

Wheeling’s Peter Delmas, who stopped all 21 shots he faced last night, couldn’t replicate his effort on Saturday as he allowed a handful of Everblades goals in a 5-2 loss. Carolina prospect John Muse got the win for Florida with 29 saves. Florida moved into a tie for seventh place in the East with Cincinnati. Reading is lurking in ninth just two points behind and Chicago is three points behind. It’s going to come down to the wire.

Florida got a strong game in net from Carolina prospect John Muse, but this goaltending duel was won by Wheeling’s Peter Delmas, who stopped all 21 shots he faced. Delmas was a second round pick of the Avalanche in 2008. The ‘Blades regular starter, Pat Nagle, was recalled to AHL Norfolk this week after the Lightning called up Norfolk starter Dustin Tokarski. New Lightning prospect Sebastien Piche (pictured), who had 33 points in 48 ECHL games last year, is still looking for his first goal with Florida. The Everblades sit in eighth in the East, two points up on ninth place Reading with a game in hand on the Royals.
