Nikita Gusev assisted on a Second Period goal by Alexei Kruchinin and scored in 2 out of 3 of his attempts on former Flyers farmhand Johan Backlund in the shootout to deliver Yugra a 4-3 win over Chekhov. The young forward was also +2 in his 12:15 of ice time in, undoubtedly, his finest statistical game of the season.

Elsewhere, Andrey Vasilevskiy did not dress for Ufa's 5-1 loss to Praha. Vasilevskiy is returning to Ufa from the Russian U20 junior team after their Bronze Medal performance at the U20 World Junior Championships.

Janus and Bratislava appear to be in dire straits in 12th place in the 14 team Western Conference, 10 points behind 8th place Yaroslavl.

Koshechkin and Magnitogorsk are a solid 3rd in the Eastern Conference, 5 points back of leader Ak Bars Kazan. Vasilevskiy's Ufa club sits just 5 points behind Magnitogorsk in 4th in the conference. Nikita Gusev's Yugra club also looks to be in trouble in 11th place in the 14 team Eastern Conference, 14 points back of 8th place Chelyabinsk.
