Ingram, Connor

AHL Game Night: 10-20-18 Comets at Crunch

Crunch comeback bid falls short.

UTI-4
SYR-3

Connor Ingram allowed 4 goals on 30 shots for the loss.

First Period
10:57 UTI MacEwen (3), (Dahlen, Juolevi)(PP)

Second Period
6:24 UTI Jasek (2), (Archibald)
8:51 UTI Archibald (4), (Carcone, Biega)(PP)
10:10 SYR Gaunce (1), (Barre-Boulet, Conacher)
12:30 SYR Conacher (1), (unassisted)(SH)(PS)
19:10 UTI Sifers (1), (Jasek)

Third Period
12:41 SYR Andreoff (3), (Barre-Boulet, Cernak)(PP)

Cory Conacher and Alex Barre-Boulet were the game's second and third stars. Barre-Boulet now has 2 goals and 5 points in his first 5 pro games.

Syracuse did some good things in this game to nearly crawl out of a three goal hole they dug for themselves early in this contest. Still, the team's got to have a better showing in the 20-30 minutes of games than they did and they cannot allow goals late in periods like they did to Sifers. That ultimately became the margin for Utica and just can't happen. Hockey 101.

AHL Game Night: 10-19-18 Crunch at Devils

Ingram pitches a shutout in slump busting win.

SYR-4
BNG-0

Connor Ingram stopped all 27 shots he faced and a penalty shot for the victory. How a man does all that and doesn't get a star is beyond me.

First Period
4:07 SYR Andreoff (1), (Dumont, Gaunce)(SH)

Second Period
12:59 SYR Stephens (1), (Cernak, Dumont)(PP)

Third Period
9:46 SYR Andreoff (2), (Martel, Verhaeghe)(PP)
19:41 SYR Katchouk (1), (Stephens)(EN)(SH)

Andy Andreoff, Gabriel Dumont, and Mitchell Stephens were the game's three stars.

Danick Martel appeared for the Crunch on a conditioning stint after not getting into a game thus far for the Lightning and had a helper. Boris Katchouk scored his first pro goal into the empty net to seal the deal.

Syracuse evens their record at 2-2-0. They've played significantly fewer games than most of the teams in the Eastern Conference and have a fair number of games in hand to make up.

AHL Game Night: 10-13-18 Checkers at Crunch

Crunch inexperience exposed.

CHA-4
SYR-1

Connor Ingram allowed 4 goals on 33 shots for the loss. Actually played better than the stat line indicates, including stopping a penalty shot.

First Period
4:46 CHA Gauthier (1), (Maenalanen)
17:57 CHA Kuokkanen (3), (Poturalski, Carrick)(PP)

Second Period
11:10 CHA Bishop (1), (Saarela, McKeown)(PP)
16:25 CHA Brown (1), (Bishop, Cajkovsky)(SH)

Third Period
4:42 SYR Sosunov (1), (Tammela, Katchouk)

Ingram was the game's third star.

Syracuse took about a month last season to work out the kinks with a young lineup, and we may see a bit of that to start this season, too. It was a pretty ugly, mistake-pocked game for Syracuse tonight and Ben Groulx will have plenty to work on correcting. Silver lining: big Oleg Sosunov did pot his first pro goal.
