Florida went 0-for-7 on the power play but overcame a 4-1 deficit in the third period to send the game to overtime where, in the shootout, Matt Marquardt ensured the comeback victory by beating Wheeling's Patrick Killeen. Shugg, who also scored in the shootout, provided the night's heroics by capping off his hat-trick with the game-tying goal which came with just over a half-minute to play in regulation. Bobby Raymond had the other Everblades goal. Pat Nagle again sat in favor of John Muse while Charles Landry was out the lineup, as was Alex Hutchings, who missed his fifth-straight game, and Maxime Langelier-Parent, who remains inactive due to injury. Florida (10-8-5, 25 PTS) continues its road trip on Wednesday against Cincinnati (14-6-2, 30 PTS).
Alaska Aces 8 vs. Utah Grizzlies 4

Alaska came charging out of the gate, potting four goals in the first period and held a commanding 7-3 lead by the end on the second that would hold up through the final frame as the scoring finally slowed. Nick Mazzolini (3 G, 2 A) led the way for the Aces, who have now won won two of the first three matches in a four-game series. Nate Thompson didn't factor into the scoring in such a goal-filled contest but he dropped the gloves for the first time this season, going toe-to-toe with Utah's Riley Armstrong, a 5'11", 200 pound winger, during a chippy second period of action. Mark Guggenberger, finally in net again as Gerald Coleman had started the previous six games, stopped seventeen shots to earn the win for the Aces. Alaska (18-6-0, 36 PTS) and Utah (9-10-2, 20 PTS) conclude their four-game set on Monday night.

Justin Shugg scored twice as Florida jumped out to a three-goal first period lead that Wheeling, aided by five opportunities with the man advantage over the course of the final two frames, eventually erased, with the goalie off for the extra attacker, in the last minute of regulation. Neither team scored in the extra session so the game went to a shootout where Brayden Irwin scored the lone goal secure a victory for the Everblades. Florida received an excellent performance from John Muse, who got the start in net, as the Nailers outshot the Everblades 44-17 for the match. The disparity was particularly acute over the final two periods where Wheeling held a 31-8 shot advantage. Alex Hutchings missed his fourth-straight game and Maxime Langelier-Parent remains inactive due to injury. Florida (9-8-5, 23 PTS) will do battle against Wheeling (6-8-4, 16 PTS), again on Saturday night.

Ex-Bolt goalie Gerald Coleman lost his first start and Alaska's six-game winning streak came to a halt as Utah held the high-powered Aces offense in check to claim the second match of a four-game series. Nate Thompson was back in the lineup after getting a night off on Wednesday. Alaska (17-6-0, 34 PTS) and Utah (9-9-2, 20 PTS) meet again Saturday night.

Florida fell behind 3-1 in the second period but only managed to trade goals before falling in regulation to Reading. Pat Nagle didn't have a banner evening but was, on at least two goals (the second and fourth allowed), partially victimized by circumstance. Dan Milan, scratched last game, and Charles Landry, returned from Syracuse, were back in the lineup for the Everblades. Alex Hutchings remained out for the third-straight game and Maxime Langelier-Parent is still inactive due to injury. Florida (8-8-5, 21 PTS) continues its road trip against Wheeling (6-8-3, 15 PTS), which is at the bottom of the Atlantic division standings, on Friday.

Alaska broke a one-all tie and scored three times in the third period to finish off Utah in the first game of a four-game series. Joey Crabb, Scott Gomez and Nick Mazzolini led the way offensively for the Aces with a goal and an assist each. Former Lightning goaltender Gerald Coleman, who has started every game since joining the Aces, continued his impressive run and is now 5-0-0 with a 1.79 GAA and .930 SV%. Nate Thompson was out of the lineup for just the second time this season. Alaska (17-5-0, 34 PTS), which has won its last six matches, and Utah (8-9-2, 18 PTS) square off again on Friday.

In his second game of ECHL action, Ryan O'Byrne added his second and third points with a goal and an assist to help Florida, which fell behind after taking the initial lead, defeat its divisional rival Saturday night. With Alex Hutchings out of the lineup for the second-consecutive game, Dan Milan scratched for the first time since returning from injury, Charles Landry currently up with Syracuse and Maxime Langelier-Parent still inactive due to injury, Pat Nagle was the only Lightning prospect to see any action. Nagle turned in a solid night's work for the home squad, especially considering he saw a bit more work than his counterpart, Nathan Lieuwen, as the Everblades were outshot 31-19 by the Road Warriors. Nagle was rewarded, though, thanks to the opportunistic and efficient play of his teammates. Having concluded its two-game pit stop, Florida (8-7-5, 21 PTS) begins a two-week, seven-game road trip Wednesday night against Reading (13-7-1, 27 PTS), which currently sits atop the Atlantic division and has won eight of its last ten games.

Nate Thompson, back in the lineup after missing his first game of the season the night before, had a goal and assist as Alaska, which has won nine of its last ten games, overcame a two-goal deficit to win the battle between the two Western Conference division leaders and pushed its win streak to five games. Former Lightning goaltender Gerald Coleman made his fourth-consecutive start, all of which he has won. With his contributions, Thompson, whose goal came on a rebound from one of his own shots, returned to the point-per-game pace he achieved a few games ago and is now riding a four game scoring streak during which he has put up eight points (3 G, 5 A). Fellow locked-out NHLer Brandon Dubinsky remains out due to injury. Alaska (16-5-0, 32 PTS), currently the top team in the league standings, now heads home to await Utah (8-8-2, 18 PTS) as both teams will begin a six-game series spanning eleven days on Wednesday.

Matt Forney (2 G, 1 A) and Chad Costello (1 G, 1 A) helped propel Colorado past Florida Saturday and clinch the three-game weekend set between the two clubs. After falling behind 2-0, the Everblades got on the board when Eagles defenseman Riley Nelson misplayed the puck in his own end, sending the puck towards, underneath G Adam Brown and into Colorado's goal. Brayden Irwin was credited with the lone Florida goal. Hutchings, who has had a November to remember with 12 points (8 G, 4 A) in 8 games, and put up three goals and an assist against Colorado in the first two games of the weekend series, was held scoreless. Charles Landry was called up to Syracuse before the match. Florida (7-7-4, 18 PTS) now returns home to rest up for Friday's tilt against division-rival Greenville (12-6-1, 25 PTS).

Alaska won its second overtime game of the season after Nick Mazzolini scored in the final minute to force the extra session and Zach Harrison fired the game-winner from the slot before the game could be decided by shootout. Thompson had two primary helpers, the first on a first period tally by Sean Curry and the second after helping get the puck to the net where Mazzolini would find and bury it during the ensuing goalmouth scramble. Brandon Dubinsky remains out due to injury. Next up on the docket for Alaska (13-5-0, 26 PTS) is a showdown with Stockton (11-3-1, 23 PTS), the other division leader in the Western conference, on Wednesday.
