This huge match-up between two of Canada’s best teams went to a shootout, which the Sea Dogs won 3-1. Saint John is the top-ranked team in the CHL; Moncton sixth. Barberio set a new career high for points in a season, in 20 fewer games.

Oshawa head coach and GM Chris DiPiero has been critical of both Generals goaltenders this year. This game won’t help. Oshawa was only outshot 39-36.

Regina scored twice in the last two minutes of regulation to force overtime, including Jordan Eberle’s clutch goal with under a minute remaining. Eberle (Oilers 1/08) would then set up defenseman Mitch Spooner (2010) with the game winner in overtime.

Wright’s second goal of the year gave the Giants a 3-0 first period lead, but the Giants would later squander that lead and need a goal with 12 seconds left in regulation to force overtime at 4-4. Wright did not participate in the shootout, which was won by TC 1-0.

Fresh off a five-point All-Star Game, including a hat trick, Hutchings could not find the scoresheet as the Colts suffered a rare home loss, albeit in a shootout. Hutchings did not participate in the breakaway contest. He is 12 points off his career high for points in a season (68), set in 63 games last season. He’s one goal off his career high for goals (34), set that same year.

Barberio’s six-game point streak came to an end, though he still has 11 points in his last seven games.
OHL All-Star Game
East 17 vs. West 10
LW/C Alex Hutchings, BAR: 3-2-5, +5, 0 PIM
Season Totals: 49 GP, 33-23-56, +32, 45 PIM
This was Hutchings’ third All-Star Game appearance, and he made the most of it, scoring once in each period and adding two assists. Niagara's Andrew Agozzino had four goals and was named Player of the Game for the East. Hutchings’ Barrie teammate Alex Pietrangelo was plus-9 in the game with four assists. Likely No.1 overall pick in 2010 Taylor Hall had just one assist for the West.

This was Hutchings’ (pictured) second fight of his career and first of the season. Morin (Thrashers 2/2009) is among Rangers’ leading scorers at 65 points. Morin, an American, received an instigator on the play. He has fought five times this year.

Ashton’s goal tied the game at one early, but Regina couldn’t defeated Moose Jaw on the road to extend their 5-0-0-1 streak. Ashton hit 20 goals for the second straight season. The first rounder had 30 in 70 games last year with Lethbridge.

Wright started the game on a line with Lance Bouma (Flames 3/2008) and Tomas Vincour (Stars 5/2009). He was wearing his familiar No.19, which was taken before his arrival from Tampa. The Giants got a late goal from Vincour, then won the shootout 2-1 to break a losing streak.
