Brody Sutter's unassisted strike past the midpoint of the third period gave Florida its third lead of the night and proved the decisive marker as the visitors narrowly edged South division-leading Gwinnett on Friday night. The victory meant Pat Nagle and the Florida kept their win-streaks, now up to four games for both, alive. The Gladiators peppered Nagle all night, hitting double-digits in shots in all three periods while the Everblades, but the Tampa Bay Lightning goalie prospect was able to turn aside all but two attempts. Both teams combined to go scoreless on five power play opportunities. Alex Hutchings was still on recall to Syracuse while Charles Landry was back in the lineup after being reassigned back to Florida. Maxime Langelier-Parent remains inactive. Florida (19-13-7, 45 PTS) travels again to do battle with South Carolina (19-20-4, 42 PTS) on Saturday.

Brett Connolly was the game's second star after scoring Syracuse's only goal.

As might be expected, Alex Hutchings and Charles Landry were called up from the Coast before the game. This allowed the Crunch to pull several of their vets from the lineup as they prepare to head to Tampa for abbreviated training camp. That, in of itself, made things weird enough. But, once Richard Panik got himself kicked out early in the Second Period of the game, the lineup really got scrambled beyond recognition. It's going to be a strange next few weeks as players move up and down from Tampa. Once the roster finally settles down a little, this Syracuse team will have to re-learn how to play together with the personnel who are left. That's why Jon Cooper makes the big bucks.

Pat Nagle earned his second win of 2013 in his second try, stopping 38 shots against visiting Toledo on Friday night. All three Lightning skating prospects notched assists, including Dan Milan - his first professional helper. Hutchings has six points (2G, 4A) in his last five games. Both he and Landry will travel to Syracuse on Saturday to join the Lightning's AHL club. Reports state a handful of Crunch players are now in Tampa expecting the NHL lockout to be declared officially over.

Big and scrappy forward Leigh Salters scored twice and Pat Nagle stopped all but one of twenty-six shots to lead Florida to a sound decision over Toledo at home Wednesday night. The Everblades came into the game having been pretty efficient on the power play recently and, as they were able to convert on one of just two opportunities with the man-advantage, that trend continued against the Walleye. Hutchings, who now has five points (2 G, 3 A) in the last four games and, again, with NHL teams preparing to open camps this weekend, one might wonder if he's due for a recall to AHL Syracuse, especially given the expected promotion to the big club of a Crunch forward or two. It was Nagle's first start and game action since December 28th. Maxime Langelier-Parent, still recovering from an injury sustained early in the season, were inactive. Florida (16-12-7, 41 PTS) and Toledo (19-14-4, 42 PTS) play the second match of a three-game set on Friday.

Brayden Irwin helped Florida erase two deficits but the visitors could not score again after falling behind to South Carolina for a third time late in the second period. A night after having the play taken to them at even-strength, the Everblades did a good job limiting the Stingrays chances but the host squad proved opportunistic, scoring three goals despite managing just nineteen shots on goal. Both teams traded power play goals. Hutchings, who now has four points (2 G, 2 A) in the last three games, is suddenly hot again and it may be at just the right time to earn a recall to AHL Syracuse if a forward spot or two opens up there as a result of of the NHL lockout ending. Pat Nagle was back in the lineup after missing the last couple of games. John Muse started and took the loss for the Everblades. Maxime Langelier-Parent, still recovering from an injury sustained early in the season, were inactive. Florida (15-12-7, 39 PTS) is next in action on Wednesday when it plays host to Toledo (19-13-4, 42 PTS).

Alex Hutchings gave Florida a 2-1 lead just a couple minutes into the second period but Gwinnett was back ahead before the start of the final frame where Brayden Irwin scored a PP goal for the visitors to push them into the extra session where the South division's top club finally dispatched them. Despite being crushed in even-strength scoring, Florida, which was outshot 39-29 in the contest, relied on a superb special teams effort, scoring all of its goals on the power play opportunities and only failing to produce on one while killing all three of Gwinnett's chances with the man-advantage. Hutchings, who notched his 11th of the season with the Everblades on the power play by parking himself in front of the net, corralling a feed from behind the net by Leigh Salters and stuffing the puck past Gladiators netminder Louis Domingue, now has goals in two-straight games. Landry's two-game point-scoring streak came to a swift conclusion. Rob Madore was in net again for the Everblades with John Muse backing him up with Pat Nagle out of the lineup. Maxime Langelier-Parent, still recovering from an injury sustained early in the season, were inactive. Florida (15-12-7, 39 PTS) ends its road trip with a Sunday afternoon tilt against South Carolina (16-18-4, 36 PTS).

Florida managed to snatch victory from the jaws of defeat Friday night, scoring five third-period goals, capped off by Alex Hutchings' empty-netter, in a span of roughly fourteen minutes to stun divisional rival Greenville. Matthew Pistilli, newly acquired from South Carolina, scored twice in his return to the Everblades. Pistilli previously scored seventeen goals and eighteen assists for Florida over the course of thirty-eight games split between the 2010-2011 and 2009-2010 seasons. Andrew Yogan, the first Florida-raised player drafted (4th round, 2010) by an NHL team (the New York Rangers), opened the game's scoring for the Road Warriors. With his second assist in as many games, Landry now has his first point-scoring streak of the season. Hutchings returned to the scoresheet after going pointless in Florida's last three matches. Carolina G prospect John Muse backed up Rob Madore, who stopped twenty-four shots in the match, as Pat Nagle was inactive for the Everblades. Maxime Langelier-Parent, still recovering from an injury sustained early in the season, were inactive. Florida (15-12-6, 38 PTS) continues its road swing with a match against Gwinnett (23-12-1, 47 PTS), currently atop the South division standings, on Saturday.

David Rutherford gave Florida a lead late in the first period but Orlando tied the game midway through the middle frame before Ryan Cruthers scored the game-winner for the visiting Solar Bears on their only shot taken in the extra session. With Pat Nagle still on recall to AHL Syracuse, Rob Madore spelled John Muse, who held the fort in each of the previous eight games, in net. Madore delivered a solid debut performance with the Everblades, stopping twenty-five of twenty-seven shots in the contest. After bursting out of his scoring slump the night before, Alex Hutchings failed to register even a shot. Charles Landry was equally invisible statistically. With the win, the Aces swept what was a three-game set, outscoring the Thunder 13-4 and extending their winning streak to five games in the process. Former Lightning netminder Gerald Coleman stopped all but one of seventeen shots to move his record to 9-2-0, lower his GAA to 2.34 and his bump his SV% to .912 so far this season. The Aces had again had the services of Scott Gomez but were still missing the services of fellow NHLers Nate Thompson, who missed his fifth-straight game and Brandon Dubinsky, who is still recovering from injury. Alaska (23-8-0, 46 PTS) will resume its home stand against division-rival Colorado (16-11-3, 35 PTS) on Friday.
