Oshawa Generals 5 @ Belleville Bulls 3
G Michael Zador, OSH: Win, 34 saves on 37 shots
Season: 6 GP, 4-1-1-0, 3.49 GAA, .896 sv%, 1 SO
Zador won his third straight game, defeating the division-rival Bulls in Belleville. With the win, Oshawa (5-3-2-0) climbed into a first place tie with Peterborough and Kingston in the East Division. Zador was complimented by his coach in the Oshawa Express for his good play recently (Click here to read).
Meanwhile, with Jaroslav Janus making his pro debut last night for Norfolk, his junior team in Erie lost yet again and have the league’s fewest points at 6. Erie has been plagued by the relatively unexpected losses of Janus and center Ryan O’Reilly (2009 second round pick/33rd overall), who’s still with the Colorado Avalanche.

Season totals: 9 GP, 6-2-8, -6, 18 PIM
Lethbridge outshot Chilliwack 31-29, but couldn’t beat Bruin goaltender Lucas Gore (undrafted), who won his first game of the season.

Barberio assisted on the insurance goal scored on the power play late in the third period.

Season totals: 6 GP, 1-0-1, -1, 10 PIM
After winning seven to start the year, the Soo has now lost two straight. DeCoste scored his first goal of the season. He had 15 in 65 games last year.
Erie Otters 4 @ Barrie Colts 7
LW/C Alex Hutchings, BAR: 1-1-2, +2, 2 PIM (slashing)
Season totals: 9 GP, 6-7-13, +5, 4 PIM
Hutchings has a five game point streak in which he’s scored eight points. He has three goals in his last two games. Erie, who outshot Barrie 46-40, misses goalie Jaroslav Janus, who remains with the Norfolk Admirals on a tryout contract.

Ashton was kicked out at 3:58 of the first period after a checking-from-behind major penalty. His four game goal streak was snapped.

After winning seven to start the year, DeCoste and Sault Ste Marie took their first loss of the season Friday night. DeCoste is still trying to find that illusive first point of the season.

Ottawa failed to move out of last in the East Division, losing to the team that finished there last season.

Season: 4 GP, 2-1-1-0, 4.02 GAA, 8.86 sv%, 1 SO
Now that’s how you reclaim the No.1 goaltender spot. After sitting for four games, Zador (pictured) finally got the nod for Oshawa and was stellar in a 37-save shutout - especially early. He dropped his GAA a full goal and a half with the effort. It was his first career shutout in 33 OHL games.

Season totals: 7 GP, 6-2-8, -9, 11 PIM*
Lethbridge won their third straight game, scoring four third period goals to beat former Lightning prospect Torrie Jung and Edmonton. Carter’s goal was scored in highlight-reel fashion when he “swooped through the Oil Kings' crease, out-waited Jung, and then slid the puck low to make it 3-1 (Lethbridge Herald).†This was the ‘Canes home opener after starting the year with eight straight road games (2-6). Ashton has scored in four straight games.
