Bolt Prospects Prospect of the Week: 12/18-12/24

In honor of James Brown's passing, we're going to give it up to the old(er) school in the Lightning organization...

LW Eric Healey, Springfield (AHL)

Eric Healey has been hotter than a firecracker in the last couple of weeks helping the Falcons pull into the holiday break two games over .500 and giving real hope to their fan base that playoffs might be in the cards this season. Although it doesn't fit within the sample set for this week's award, I feel it fit to begin by talking about Healey's 2 goal, 4 point effort on Sunday 12/17 at division leading Portland helping the Falcons secure a point in a shootout loss. Healey was named the first star of the game in that contest. Then, on Friday the 22nd, Healey had what would've been the game's opening goal waved off in a bizarre and controversial referee's decision in the team's 2-1 loss at Hartford. Undeterred, Healey repeated his heroics against Portland on Saturday the 23rd notching a pair of goals including the game winner in Springfield's 3-2 win over the Pirates. Healey was named first star of the game in that contest as well. The 31 year old native of Hull, Mass. currently leads the Falcons in scoring with 13 goals and 31 points in 31 games this season. His 7 power play goals also ties him for 10th in the AHL in that statistical category. Healey becomes the second overage prospect in the Lightning organization to earn Prospect of the Week honors.
